In Rise of Kingdoms, Gorgo is a legendary infantry commander. She has the Infantry, Garrison, and Defense talent trees.
Should you invest in Gorgo?
Gorgo is an extremely powerful infantry commander. She is currently one of the best commanders you can use for defending objectives. So, if you are a pay-to-win player, you should definitely invest in her.
If you are a free-to-play player who is defending objectives and has a strong commander to pair with her, along with good infantry gear, then feel free to invest in her. Based on her skills, she appears to be viable in the open field, as only one of her skills does not work there.
One downside of Gorgo is that her talent tree is not very strong, and she lacks marching speed. Infantry is notoriously slow, and for fighting in the open field, marching speed is essential.
So, if you are not a pay-to-win player or a free-to-play player focused on defending, I would not recommend investing in Gorgo purely for open-field use.

Gorgo Pairings
There are not a lot of great pairings for Gorgo, and the reason behind that is smite damage. It is a new type of attack, and there are not a lot of commanders that have it. So it is best to pair Gorgo with Liu Che.
Liu Che
Liu Che is the best commander that you can pair with Gorgo. They have insane synergy together. Gorgo will increase attack damage, and Liu Che will benefit a lot from it with his first skill. Overall, you cannot go wrong with this pairing. In this pairing, make sure that you are using Gorgo as the primary commander.
Flavius Aetius
If you want to have a garrison pairing, you can pair Gorgo with Flaviu. They have great synergy for defending objectives. Just make sure that you are using the Flavius talent tree build so you can get garrison benefits.
