If you are a new or advanced Rise Of Kingdoms player, you must understand how to upgrade troops. You should upgrade your troops but not right away. Runes, kingdom buffs, your resources, speedups, events, and other factors all play a role in troop upgrading in Rise Of Kingdoms.
The overall cost of upgrading units is the same as the cost of training a new one. For example, suppose you have tier 4 and want to upgrade to tier 5. When you add the cost of tier 4 troops to that, the cost of directly training tier 5 will be the same.
Upgrading troops as a new player
There is no point in upgrading troops or even speeding up training troops with universal sculptures if you are a new player in Rise Of Kingdoms. When you train troops, you gain more power and troops, but this does not imply that you will become a strong player.
Technology is the most important thing for new players, so never upgrade units in Rise Of Kingdoms until you have your tier 4 units. When you reach tier 4 units, you will receive a significant training boost, and the time required to upgrade troops will decrease. If you want to go all out, you can wait until you reach Tier 5 before starting to upgrade troops.
As a new player, you should never upgrade your tier 1 or tier 2 troops; instead, use them for gathering due to their fast march speed. When you reach tier 4, you can upgrade them because if your city is attacked, they will simply fill up your hospital. To get additional resources and speedups for upgrading troops you can use Rise Of Kingdoms Redeem Codes.
When should troops be upgraded?
You want to upgrade units when there is a special event, such as MGE or Zenith of Power, where you can earn a lot of points for doing so. When you upgrade units, say from tier 4 to tier 5, you gain 6 power per unit and spend fewer speedups and resources. At the end of the day, the cost will be the same, but you will be able to earn more points for the duration of the event.
Never upgrade your troops if there are no runes, kingdom buffs, or titles because it will drastically reduce your training.
You can upgrade your troops if you have just unlocked tier 5 troops and want to have a full march of tier 5 troops, but always leave some tier 4 troops to use in field fighting if you don’t have much gold. Tier 4 will not perform as well as Tier 5, but they will not cost as much gold in Rise of Kingdoms.
If you are participating in events such as AOO, you should definitely upgrade your troops so that you can defend structures and deal more damage with the rally.
Never upgrade your troops as a new player until you reach Tier 4. Make a plan for when you will upgrade your troops. Never upgrade troops unless you have all buffs and runes that can reduce the cost of upgrading troops. If you have too many lower-tier units, upgrade them so they don’t take up too much space in your hospital.
