William I is a legendary cavalry commander that can be used on kingdoms which have been open for more than 310 days. By looking at his skills he is a very strong commander. William needs to be tested to know is he a good commander but I see a lot of potentials. An in-depth guide, talent tree, and pairs will be added later after testing.
William l, known as William the Conqueror, was the first Norman King of England, ruling from 1066-1087. In 1066, William of Normandy, invaded and conquered England in what is now known as the “Norman Conquest”. In the most decisive battle of the campaign, the Battle of Hastings, the Norman army killed King Harold II and defeated his army near Hastings on October 14, 1066. The Norman conquest changed the direction of England’s history forever. Whether the changes were commercial religious or cultural, England has forever since continental Europe. In addition, the famous “Domesday land surveys covering most of England and parts of Wales, was also completed at William I’s direction.

William I Skills
Rage Requirement: 1000
Deal damage to up to 3 targets in a forward-facing rectangle area (Damage Factor: 900). Damage dealt to each target is reduced by 15% for each additional target after the first. Attacked troops’ extra skill damage from buffs cannot take effect, and their march speed is reduced by 10% for 3 seconds.
Direct Damage Factor: 900/ 1000 / 1100 / 1300 / 1500
March Speed Reduction: 10%/ 15%/ 20%/ 25%/ 30%
When in a forward-facing rectangle area, with this skill, William can deal damage directly to 3 targets. This attack power reduces by 15% whenever the next target is hit. The buffs relating to skill damage cannot take effect and the march speed of these targets is reduced by 3 seconds.
This makes William I a great counterattack for Commanders like Mehmed II, Yi Seong-Gye and Genghis Khan as all of these commanders are quite popular in the game.
Charge of Hastings
All cavalry units under his command get their attack increased by 10% and march speed by 3%. While in alliance territory, all troops’ damage is increased by 2%.
Cavalry Attack Bonus: 10%/ 12%/ 14%/ 16%/ 20%
Cavalry March Speed Bonus: 3%/ 6% / 9%/ 12%/ 15%
Damage Bonus: 2% / 4% / 6% / 8%/ 10%
Upgrade commander to 2 Stars to unlock.
When this skill is maxed out, this gives William I’s cavalry troops a 15% march speed and 20% attack bonus. When the army of William is in the alliance territory they will give 10% more damage to the enemy. This is a nice passive skill for the cavalry.
While on the map, all commanded cavalry units’ attack is increased by 10%, and normal attacks have a chance to inflict direct damage to the target (Damage Factor 600). If the target is surrounded, it will take extra damage (Damage Factor: number of surrounding troops x 40). Up to 5 surrounding troops are counted when calculating this extra damage.

Damage Factor (Surrounded): 40 / 50 / 60 / 70/ 80

William I’s cavalry unit gets a bonus when they are on the map, they have a 10% chance to deal direct damage to the target with their normal attacks. When the target is surrounded, the troops inflict extra damage. The maximum amount of additional damage the troops can deal with the target is 5.
Scourge of the North
When “Hidden Bloodline” hits a target, this commanded s troops gain increased defense for 3 seconds. When “Hidden Bloodline” hits two or more targets, all this commander’s troops and nearby allied troops gain 10% increased defense and 50 rage per second for 3 seconds.
Defense Bonus: 10% / 12%/ 14% /16% / 20%
March Speed 5%/10% / 15% / 20% / 25%

This skill gives William I’s troops 20% more defense when an active skill hits the target. A perfect passive skill for an open battlefield. When William I hits more than 2 enemies, William and his nearby allies also get 20% more defense and receive 150 rage for 3 seconds. This is a great skill that has the ability to maintain the uptime of the active skill.
Enhanced: Norman Conquest
While on the map, all commanded cavalry units’ attack is increased by 20%, and normal attacks have a 10% chance to inflict direct damage to the target (Damage Factor 800). If the target is surrounded, it will take extra damage (Damage Factor: number of surrounding troops x 80). Up to 5 surrounding troops are counted when calculating this extra damage.
While on the map, all commanded cavalry units’ attack is increased by 30%, and normal attacks have a 10% chance to inflict direct damage to the target (Damage Factor If the target is surrounded, it will take extra damage (Damage Factor: number of surrounding troops x 100). Up to 5 surrounding troops are counted when calculating this extra damage.
Commander expertise automatically unlocked once all skills have been upgraded to the maximum level.
William I Pairings
They are a perfect pair as both are heavy nukers and they deal high damage towards multiple and single enemies. Genghis Khan also has the ability to boost rage restoration and also the skill damage.
Another great pair for a balanced approach. Takeda has the ability to boost the overall defense and march speed of their army. He also has a debuff that deals extra damage for 4 seconds to the enemy.
