In Rise of Kingdoms, Hayam Wuruk is a legendary Infantry commander. He has the Archer, Garrison, and Skill talent trees.
Should you invest in Hayam Wuruk?
Hayam Wuruk is a garrison commander who is strong against infantry and swarm rallies. If you are a free-to-play player focused on the open field, there is no point in investing in Hayam Wuruk.
He is designed for players who defend objectives and already have everything maxed. Because of that, most free-to-play players should skip him, as there are better commanders to invest in.
However, if you are a pay-to-win player or someone focused on garrison defense, then Hayam Wuruk is worth getting. He is one of the best anti-swarm garrison commanders in the game.
- Built specifically to counter infantry/smite rallies: Archer-only troop: takes 10% less smite damage. When hit with smite damage: 50% chance to reduce attacker’s rage accumulation by 20% for 2 seconds — slows enemy skill cycling.
- Genuinely brutal anti-swarm counterattack engine: While garrisoning: for every 2 basic/counter hits taken, immediately fires back 200 DF direct damage, up to 6 times per second, 4-second cooldown. Minimum 200 DF every 4 seconds at baseline — best case against heavy swarms, up to 1,200 DF in punishment.
- Garrison-locked value: Most of his best effects (smite resistance, rage-slow, counterattack engine, comeback mechanic) only activate while garrisoning. Open field value is limited.
