Archimedes is an engineering commander in Rise of Kingdoms with engineering, versatility and defense talent tree. Archimedes is designed for range combat where he debuffs enemy while dealing sustained DPS.

Should you invest in Archimedes?

If you are free-to-play player or do not play range combat then 100% skip and do not invest in Archimedes. Reason is that he is a range combat commander that is useless if you do not have other range combat commanders and gear for him. On top of that you have to love range combat playstyle.

  • Solid stats: +15% health & +15% march speed for siege (rarely seen together on ranged commanders).
  • Distance-scaling damage: +10–15% bonus damage depending on range.
  • 50% chance to inflict march speed reduction (–10%).
  • Target takes +15% more ranged basic attack damage for 4s.
  • Damage is sustained, not bursty → lacks a “big nuke” active skill.
  • Debuff is situational (basic attack amplification, not universal).
