In Rise of Kingdoms, David is an Legendary cavalry commander. He has the Cavalry, Garrison, and Combo talent tree.

Should you invest in David?

David is an extremely good garrison commander. What is great about him is that he has a lot of AOE damage that works well against swarming. On top of that, he is tanky, which allows him to absorb a lot of damage against rallies. The problem is that he cannot be used in the open field.

So if you are a free-to-play player, avoid him, because you will need a great pairing commander, max gear, and you still will not be able to use him in the open field. There are better commanders for you as a free-to-play player. This commander is for pay-to-win players who are doing garrison defense in KVKs.

  • Constant AoE damage in garrison
  • Tanky as hell vs rallies
  • Debuff cleanse on active
  • Synergy with combo meta
  • Purely a garrison commander
  • Needs heavy investment to shine
  • Very meta-dependent

David Pairings

David and Hector are a great pairing. The reason is that they have combo synergy that will deal extra damage. Also, they have all the right tools against enemy swarming. They are designed against new rally pairings.

David and Attila iconAttila is a pairing that you cannot go wrong with. This is great when you are expecting big swarming or when the enemy is using high skill-damage commanders or archers. They also have great survivability.
