In Rise of Kingdoms, Alp Arslan is a legendary Infantry commander. He has the Archer, Versatility, and Skill talent trees.

Should you invest in Alp Arslan?

Alp Arslan is an extremely strong single-target archer commander. What makes him great is that he is designed to revive existing archer commanders in Rise of Kingdoms through his Pierce effect and debuff spreading.

If you are an archer-focused player and already have archer commanders who pair well with Alp Arslan, then he is worth investing in. However, if you do not have strong synergy pairings, there is no point in investing in him. Alp Arslan is a commander who elevates and boosts existing archer commanders rather than carrying a lineup on his own.

  • Pierce stacking creates real sustained damage: Active skill: 2,000 DF direct damage, then grants Lion Soul for 10 seconds — inflicts a Pierce stack every 3 seconds, each stack dealing 100 DF/sec for 5 seconds, stacking up to 3x.
  • Every 5 debuffs inflicted → 50% chance per basic attack to spread 2 of the target’s debuffs to up to 3 nearby non-target troops.
  • Turns a single-target pierce/poison kit into something that pressures the whole battlefield around your target.
  • Active skill deals bonus direct damage equal to 100 per debuff stack already on the target — the more you’ve debuffed them, the harder your next active hits. Inflicting any debuff also shreds 5% defense (stacks twice, refreshes), triggerable up to 3x/second.
  • 25% march speed built in — solid base mobility for an archer.
  • No AoE of his own: Active is single target. All his battlefield pressure comes from pierce-stacking and debuff-spreading, not raw skill damage.

Alp Arslan Pairings

Alp Arslan (Primary) + Hermann-prime IconHerman Prime (Secondary). Together they have extremely strong synergy. You can not go wrong with this pairing. Herman Prime’s poison (up to 45% skill damage taken at full stacks) is exactly the kind of debuff worth spreading. Brings 15% march speed — solves Alp’s biggest weakness directly. Herman’s recently-buffed support tree adds tankiness Alp’s own kit lacks.

Alp Arslan (Primary) + Zhuge-liang IconZhuge Liang (Secondary) — More debuffs, no speed Zhuge Liang’s active applies 5 debuffs + expertise = 10 total, triggering Benevolence almost instantly every cycle. Real downside: zero march speed. Only run this if your gear is strong enough that positioning mistakes don’t cost you the fight.
