In Rise of Kingdoms, Philip II is an Legendary Leadership commander. He has the Leadership, Versatility, and Support talent tree.
Should you invest in Philip II?
Philip II is a strong commander in Rise of Kingdoms who has a lot of flexibility, especially in open fields. What I mean by that is that he will buff his own and nearby units so they can deal more damage and receive less damage. His main skill is dealing a lot of damage to multiple targets in a short period of time and slowing them down. On top of that, you can pair him with a variety of different commanders, no matter the type of units. Overall, an extremely strong commander that is used for the open field. It is worth investing in him, no matter if you are pay-to-win or a free-to-play player.
Philip II Talent Tree Build
The Talent Tree will be available when Philip is officially released.
Philip II Pairings
Philip II must be paired with commanders that will benefit from his buffs and that are dealing a lot of damage. What is great about Philip II is that you can put him as an infantry and cavalry commander without problems, even though he is a leadership commander.
Scipio Africanus Prime: Pairing Scipio Africanus Prime with Philip II is a great option. Together, they are reducing enemy defense and dealing a lot of damage. The downside is that Scipio Africanus Prime is used in a lot of pairings, so maybe another commander would be a better choice.
Trajan: Pairing Trajan with Philip II is not the best option if you want to have a unit that will buff all your other units. This is recommended to use where you do not have better pairings or in big fights where your troops and your allies can benefit from all the buffs.
William: William will provide AOE damage and buffs that work great with Philip II’s ability to boost that damage and survivability.
Alexander Nevsky: Nevsky and Philip II are great for outputting an insane amount of damage in a short time.
There are a lot of different pairings that you can create with Philip II. What we recommend is that you pair him with a commander that has high active skill damage and rage cycles or with a support commander that will be used for buffing your and your allies’ troops. Overall, we recommend that you test Philip II with heroes that you have to see what works best for you and your army setup.
