Ashurbanipal is a legendary archer commander in Rise of Kingdoms with the Archer, Conquering, and Skills talent trees. Ashurbanipal is an extremely strong archer commander who excels at rallying objectives in KVK and AOO. What is great about him is that his first skill deals AOE damage, making it difficult for the enemy team to swarm him down.
Should you invest in the new Ashurbanipal?
The real question is whether it is worth investing your legendary commander sculptures in Ashurbanipal. Well, it depends on a few factors. If you are a pay-to-win player who rallies objectives in KVK and AOO with archers, then you should definitely get him. He can output good damage and has an anti-swarm system. However, if you are a free-to-play player, do not invest in Ashurbanipal because he is not particularly effective for open-field battles.
You can use him in the open field, but he will not perform as well compared to other archer commanders. This is because two of his skills require him to lead a rally and to fight outside alliance territory. Additionally, archers tend to fill up your hospital quickly, and as a free-to-play player, you may struggle to heal them.
Overall, if you are a free-to-play player, do not invest in Ashurbanipal unless you plan to lead rallies with him. It would be better to invest in Hermann Prime. However, if you are a pay-to-win player, feel free to invest in Ashurbanipal.
Ashurbanipal Talent Tree Build
Ashurbanipal Pairings
Zhuge Liang
Zhuge Liang is one of the best archer commanders that you can pair with Ashurbanipal. The reason for that is that they both are dealing AOE damage to 5 targets and they have a lot of bonus stats for archers. Overall, this pairing will do insane damage to the objectives that you rally. Now they have similar talent tree builds, so feel free to use the Zhuge Liang talent tree build if you do not want to level up Ashurbanipal on max.
Boudica Prime
Boudica Prime is a great single-target commander that will work excellently with Ashurbanipal for rallying buildings. Together, they will have a lot of damage and Boudica will bring a good amount of sustain, so you will be able to deal damage for a longer time.
